🗺️ Day-by-Day Itinerary
Haridwar – Barkot (220 km | 7–8 hrs)
Depart Haridwar early morning by Tempo Traveller. Drive via Rishikesh, Dehradun and Mussoorie. En route enjoy Kempty Falls in Mussoorie. Arrive Barkot by evening, check in to hotel. Briefing about the Yatra by your guide. Dinner and overnight stay at Barkot (1,220m).
Barkot – Yamunotri – Barkot
Early morning drive 36 km to Janki Chatti. Begin the scenic 6 km trek to Yamunotri Dham (3,291m). Witness the Divya Shila — the sacred pillar — before entering the temple. Perform puja and dip cooked rice or potatoes in the holy Surya Kund (94°C). Seek blessings of Goddess Yamuna. Trek back to Janki Chatti, drive to Barkot. Dinner and overnight.
Barkot – Uttarkashi (100 km | 4 hrs)
After breakfast, drive to Uttarkashi — the "Kashi of the Mountains." Visit the ancient Vishwanath Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, and the Shakti Temple. Stroll along the banks of the Bhagirathi river. Check in to hotel, dinner and overnight stay at Uttarkashi (1,165m).
Uttarkashi – Gangotri – Uttarkashi (100 km each way)
Depart early for Gangotri (3,415m) via Harsil valley — one of the most beautiful valleys in Uttarakhand. Arrive at the Gangotri temple, perched on the banks of the Bhagirathi (Ganga). Take the holy Asthapadhi Snana (dip) in the icy Bhagirathi waters. Perform Ganga puja at the temple. Visit Suryakund and Brahma Kund. Witness the evening Ganga aarti. Return to Uttarkashi for dinner and overnight stay.
Uttarkashi – Guptkashi (210 km | 7–8 hrs)
Long but scenic drive via Dharali, Bhatwari, Tehri Reservoir, Devprayag (Sangam of Bhagirathi & Alaknanda), Srinagar, and Rudraprayag. En route stop at Devprayag for a brief visit to the Raghunath Temple. Arrive Guptkashi by evening. Visit the twin temples of Vishwanath and Ardhanarishwar. Dinner and overnight stay at Guptkashi (1,319m) — the gateway to Kedarnath.
Guptkashi – Gaurikund – Kedarnath (Trek 16 km)
Wake up at 3 AM. Drive 30 km to Sonprayag and then local jeep to Gaurikund (1,982m). Take a ritual dip in the warm Gaurikund hot spring before beginning the trek. The 16 km Kedarnath trek ascends through Jungle Chatti, Bheem Bali, and Linchauli — offering stunning views of snow-capped peaks. Arrive at Kedarnath Dham (3,583m), one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. Evening darshan at the ancient stone temple. Overnight stay at Kedarnath camps/lodges.
Kedarnath Darshan – Gaurikund – Guptkashi
Rise at dawn for the Brahma Muhurta abhishek and rudrabhishek puja. Witness the mesmerizing morning aarti at the temple. Visit the Shankaracharya Samadhi behind the temple and Gandhi Sarovar lake (optional 1 km detour). Begin trek descent to Gaurikund by 10 AM. Drive back to Guptkashi. Overnight rest and dinner.
Guptkashi – Joshimath – Badrinath (160 km | 6 hrs)
Morning drive via Ukhimath, Okhimath, Karnaprayag (confluence of Alaknanda & Pindar), and Chamoli. Pass through Joshimath — the winter seat of Badrinath. Reach Badrinath (3,133m), situated on the banks of Alaknanda river beneath the Neelkanth peak. Evening abhishek darshan at the Badrivishal temple. Tapt Kund (hot spring) dip. Overnight stay at Badrinath.
Badrinath – Mana Village – Local Sightseeing
Early morning Bal Bhog darshan and special puja at Badrinath temple. Visit Mana village — the last Indian village before the Tibet border (3 km). Explore Vyas Gufa (where sage Vyas composed the Mahabharata), Ganesh Gufa, Bhim Pul, and the origin of Saraswati River. Visit Brahamakapal Ghat for ancestral rites. Neelkanth peak viewpoint. Afternoon: drive to Rudraprayag/Pipalkoti. Overnight stay.
Rudraprayag – Rishikesh – Haridwar (250 km | 7 hrs)
Morning drive via Devprayag, Srinagar, Rishikesh. Stop at Rishikesh for darshan at Triveni Ghat, Ram Jhula, and Laxman Jhula. Visit Parmarth Niketan Ashram. Drive to Haridwar. Evening Ganga aarti at Har Ki Pauri. Yatra concludes — prasad and blessings distributed.
Departure from Haridwar
After breakfast, check out from hotel. Transfer to Haridwar railway station or bus stand. Tour ends with divine memories and blessings of the Char Dham.
