Delhi to Dehradun cab
Fare, distance and the road itself — written by the people who drive it.

Fares and road notes on this page reviewed July 30, 2026.
The Delhi–Dehradun expressway changed this route more than any other in our book. The old road through Meerut and Roorkee took the better part of seven hours; the new alignment through Baghpat and Saharanpur does it in five to six, and the last stretch runs on elevated road through the Rajaji forest. For a family with luggage the maths has genuinely shifted — a car door to door now competes with a flight once you add the two airport ends together.

Rules on this run
The Delhi–Dehradun run stays in the plains, so the hill-route paperwork does not apply. What is worth knowing before you book:
Nothing above the valleys applies on this stretch — no Green Card, no night-driving ban, no yatra registration. It is an expressway run, so the variables that matter are toll charges, which are included, and the pickup window you choose.
The vehicle for the Delhi–Dehradun run
Delhi to Dehradun stays on plains road the whole way, so the Ertiga or a sedan is usually the sensible booking — the surface never asks for more vehicle than that. All four are available.

Maruti Ertiga / Sedan
Nimble on the tighter corners above Uttarkashi. Less boot space, so pack in soft duffels rather than hard suitcases.
- Seats
- 4 + driver
- Luggage
- 2 large + 2 cabin bags
- Best for
- Couples and small families
- Availability
- Budget tier and couple packages
- AC in the plains
- Easy on narrow hill sections
- Lowest running cost
Cancellation, in plain terms
Plans change, and a 5–6 hrs mountain drive is the kind of thing weather rearranges. The Delhi–Dehradun booking runs on the same terms as every other cab we send out.
We do not take payment online. Most bookings run on a small advance over UPI and the balance to the driver at the end of the trip, so there is rarely anything to refund. Full cancellation terms.
What our passengers say
Eight of us, including my parents at 72 and 69. Palki was arranged for both at Kedarnath without any fuss. Ramesh bhai, our driver, was calm on roads that frightened me and knew every tea stop worth stopping at. Ground-floor rooms at every hotel, as promised.
The price I was quoted in February was the price I paid in May. After what I read about agent markups, that alone was worth it. Badrinath darshan was handled well and Tapt Kund before the 4:30 AM slot was something I will remember for a long time.
Three generations travelling together, and the pacing was right for all of us. Oxygen was on the vehicle and we needed it once, at Kedarnath, and it was there in under a minute. They arranged proper Tamil vegetarian food at two hotels on request, which I did not expect this far north.
