Fares and road notes on this page reviewed July 30, 2026.

Ghaziabad is the best-placed city in the NCR for this drive and hardly anybody says so. The Delhi–Meerut Expressway effectively starts at your doorstep, you never touch Delhi, and 280 km later you are at the bottom of the Mussoorie climb having done six hours rather than eight. On a weekday morning this is the fastest run to the hill from anywhere in the capital region, and it is the reason we quote it a little lower than the Delhi version despite the road being the same after Meerut.

Delhi–Meerut Expressway

On it within ten minutes of most Ghaziabad pickups.

Muzaffarnagar

Breakfast, and the halfway mark by time.

Roorkee

Fuel and tea; the Shivaliks come into view here.

Dehradun

The bottom of the climb.

Library Chowk or Picture Palace

The two ends of Mussoorie, and worth naming when you book.

From our drivers: Because this run is short by NCR standards, it is the one where a Haridwar stop genuinely fits — an hour at Har Ki Pauri on the way through still gets you to Mussoorie before dark.

Rules of the road up here

Hill routes in Uttarakhand run on rules that catch first-time visitors out. None of these are ours — they are the administration's, and they shape how the trip has to be planned.

Mountain roads, not highway hours

This is a hill run outside the Char Dham corridor, so none of the yatra paperwork applies. What does apply is arithmetic: average speed on these roads is 25–30 km/h, not the 60 a map will assume, and the last stretch is single-lane in places. We quote the honest driving time rather than the optimistic one.

The fleet

The vehicle for the Ghaziabad–Mussoorie run

Ghaziabad to Mussoorie stays on plains road the whole way, so the Ertiga or a sedan is usually the sensible booking — the surface never asks for more vehicle than that. All four are available.

Cancellation, in plain terms

Cancel free up to 48 hours before pickup.

Plans change, and a 6–7 hrs mountain drive is the kind of thing weather rearranges. The Ghaziabad–Mussoorie booking runs on the same terms as every other cab we send out.

We do not take payment online. Most bookings run on a small advance over UPI and the balance to the driver at the end of the trip, so there is rarely anything to refund. Full cancellation terms.

Solo woman traveller and I was honestly nervous. They put me with a small group of other solo pilgrims and a guide who checked in without hovering. Guptkashi hotel was clean and warm, food was simple and good. Going back for Badrinath next season.

Booked after comparing four operators. What sold me was that the person who answered the phone was the person who ran the trip. Hotels, vehicle and darshan slots were exactly as quoted. The Kedarnath trek support was the strongest part — our guide walked at my father’s pace the whole way and never once made it feel like a problem.

Rajesh KumarGhaziabad · Char Dham 9N/10D · May 2026 Verified traveller

Eight of us, including my parents at 72 and 69. Palki was arranged for both at Kedarnath without any fuss. Ramesh bhai, our driver, was calm on roads that frightened me and knew every tea stop worth stopping at. Ground-floor rooms at every hotel, as promised.
