🗺️ Day-by-Day Itinerary
Haridwar – Barkot (220 km)
Early morning departure from Haridwar. Drive via Rishikesh, Narendra Nagar, Chamba, Naugaon, and Badi to reach Barkot. En route enjoy views of the Yamuna valley and dense cedar forests. Check in at Barkot. Dinner and overnight.
Barkot – Yamunotri – Barkot
5 AM drive to Janki Chatti (36 km). Begin 6 km trek (pony/palki available). Reach Yamunotri temple (3,291m) at the foot of the Kalinda Parvat. Worship Goddess Yamuna at the black stone idol. Cook potatoes and rice in the 94°C Surya Kund hot spring — take it home as prasad. Visit Divya Shila (sacred stone pillar) and Gaurikund. Return trek, drive to Barkot. Overnight.
Barkot – Uttarkashi – Gangotri (115 km)
Drive via the Dharali valley and scenic Bhagirathi gorge to Uttarkashi. Brief stop at Prakateshwar Mahadev Cave. Continue to Gangotri (100 km from Uttarkashi). Arrive Gangotri (3,415m) — the town named after the goddess Ganga. Perform Asthapadhi Snana (ritual holy dip in Bhagirathi). Evening darshan and Ganga aarti. Overnight at Gangotri/Uttarkashi.
Gangotri – Bhagirathi Puja – Uttarkashi
Early morning aarti at Gangotri temple. Explore the temple complex: Bhagirath Shila (where King Bhagirath meditated to bring Ganga from heaven), Suryakund, Brahma Kund. Optional: 3 km trail toward Gaumukh glacier (not included in package). Return to Uttarkashi by noon. Visit Vishwanath Temple and Kashi Vishwanath. Overnight Uttarkashi.
Uttarkashi – Rishikesh – Haridwar (175 km)
Morning drive back to Haridwar via Tehri and Devprayag. Stop at Devprayag for the Sangam photograph. Reach Rishikesh, visit Laxman Jhula. Haridwar evening Ganga aarti. Tour concludes.
