Nainital sits in Kumaon, on the other side of the state from everything else we run, and that geography is the whole story of a cab from here. The road out goes east and south through Haldwani, Rampur and Moradabad — nowhere near the Char Dham corridor — so a drop to Delhi is a straightforward six to seven hours, while a drop to Haridwar means crossing the state the long way round. Vehicle entry to the Mall Road area is restricted at peak times and the parking near the lake fills by Saturday lunchtime, so the practical question on a Nainital departure is usually where the car can wait, not how long the drive is.
