Cab service in Badrinath
Outstation taxi hire from Badrinath — where we pick up, what each route costs, and who is driving.
A retired Indian Army officer who founded Shiv Ganga Travels in Haridwar in 2010 and pioneered the zero-commission model for Char Dham operators here. About us
Fares and road notes on this page reviewed July 30, 2026.
Badrinath is the one dham the road reaches, which means it is also the one where you can finish your darshan and be in a vehicle an hour later. That matters more than it sounds: a great many people arrive on a package that ends here, or change their plans at the temple, and then discover that finding a car in a town at 3,133 m on a November afternoon is a different proposition from finding one in Haridwar. Downhill drops from Badrinath are a run we are always glad to take, because our vehicles are returning to the plains regardless. The one hard constraint is daylight — the gate system and the 10 PM to 4 AM hill movement ban both decide what time you can actually leave.
Pickup points in Badrinath
All included in the fare. No airport surcharge, no station surcharge, no 'outside city limits' line item.
The vehicle waits at the main parking below the temple — the lanes above it are foot traffic only, as they are at every dham.
Standard pickup, and the easiest place to find in the dark if you are leaving before first light.
Three km on, and often the last stop people make before turning around. We will pick up there instead if that is where your morning ends.
Door pickup wherever the road reaches the door, which in Badrinath is most but not all of them.

Rules of the road up here
This is a hill run outside the Char Dham corridor, so none of the yatra paperwork applies. What does apply is arithmetic: average speed on these roads is 25–30 km/h, not the 60 a map will assume, and the last stretch is single-lane in places. We quote the honest driving time rather than the optimistic one.
Cancellation, in plain terms
Plans change, and mountain weather rearranges them more than most. Bookings to and from Badrinath run on the same terms as every other cab we send out.
We do not take payment online. Most bookings run on a small advance over UPI and the balance to the driver at the end of the trip, so there is rarely anything to refund. Full cancellation terms.
What our passengers say
Solo woman traveller and I was honestly nervous. They put me with a small group of other solo pilgrims and a guide who checked in without hovering. Guptkashi hotel was clean and warm, food was simple and good. Going back for Badrinath next season.
Booked after comparing four operators. What sold me was that the person who answered the phone was the person who ran the trip. Hotels, vehicle and darshan slots were exactly as quoted. The Kedarnath trek support was the strongest part — our guide walked at my father’s pace the whole way and never once made it feel like a problem.
Eight of us, including my parents at 72 and 69. Palki was arranged for both at Kedarnath without any fuss. Ramesh bhai, our driver, was calm on roads that frightened me and knew every tea stop worth stopping at. Ground-floor rooms at every hotel, as promised.
Booking a cab in Badrinath
Yes, and it is one of our most common bookings. Our vehicles are heading back to Haridwar anyway, so a downhill drop is a run we want rather than one we have to be persuaded into. It is 320 km and ten to eleven hours, so it is a full day.
Cabs from Badrinath are operated by us directly — our vehicle, our driver, no broker taking a cut in between.
Direct operator — our own vehicles and our own drivers, no broker in between, operating from Haridwar since 2010. Registration, fleet and credentials.
