🗺️ Day-by-Day Itinerary
Haridwar – Barkot (220 km | 7 hrs)
Depart Haridwar at 6 AM. Drive via Rishikesh, Mussoorie bypass, Naugaon and Badi to reach Barkot — the base camp for Yamunotri Yatra. The drive passes through beautiful Yamuna Valley with dense forests and mountain streams. Check in to hotel at Barkot (1,220m). Overnight.
Barkot – Yamunotri Darshan – Barkot
5 AM drive to Janki Chatti (36 km). Begin the 6 km trek through lush Himalayan forest, rhododendron trees, and mountain streams to Yamunotri temple (3,291m). First worship the Divya Shila — the sacred rock pillar that stands at the entrance of the temple. Then offer puja to Goddess Yamuna at the black stone idol. Immerse potatoes and rice in the boiling Surya Kund hot spring (94°C) — take back as sacred prasad. Optional: visit Gaurikund (warm spring) and explore the upper trail toward the Champasar Glacier and Yamuna Glacier. Trek back to Janki Chatti and drive to Barkot. Overnight.
Barkot – Rishikesh – Haridwar (245 km)
Morning drive back via Naugaon, Mussoorie and Rishikesh. Stop at Laxman Jhula for 30 mins. Reach Haridwar by 5 PM. Ganga aarti. Tour concludes.
