Maruti Ertiga on rent in Haridwar
Families of four to six who want hill comfort without Innova money.
A retired Indian Army officer who founded Shiv Ganga Travels in Haridwar in 2010 and pioneered the zero-commission model for Char Dham operators here. About us
Fares and road notes on this page reviewed July 30, 2026.
The Ertiga is the vehicle we book most often for families, and it is the one most people have not considered. It seats six properly, takes three large cases, and costs meaningfully less than an Innova Crysta while riding far better than a sedan on the climbs above Rishikesh. It is also nimbler than either on a hill road, which sounds like a small thing until you meet a bus on a switchback near Uttarkashi. For a family of five doing the Char Dham on a budget that still has to be comfortable, this is the honest recommendation, and we make it even though the Crysta earns us more.
Maruti Ertiga rate card, Haridwar
The four numbers that decide a hire bill — the day slab, the extra kilometre, the extra hour and the outstation per-km rate. Most operators publish the first and let you discover the other three.
| Vehicle | Seats | 8 hr / 80 km | Extra km | Extra hour | Outstation /km |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Maruti Ertiga | 6 | ₹2,300 | ₹16 | ₹180 | ₹15 |
2026 season rates. The 8 hr / 80 km day is a slab, not a target — whichever limit you cross first starts the extras. Outstation trips add a flat ₹300 per night driver allowance; night running between 10 PM and 6 AM adds ₹300 to a local booking. Every one of these numbers is on the page before you book, which is the entire difference between us and a call-centre quote.
Tell us the dates and where you are going and we convert this rate card into one fixed all-in figure for your trip — driver allowance, tolls and parking already in it.
What a Maruti Ertiga is genuinely good for
Six real seats and three large cases, without the Crysta premium.
Gangotri, Yamunotri, Chopta, Auli — the nimbleness is a genuine advantage on the narrower approaches.
The most comfort per rupee on a ten-day yatra, by a clear margin.
Easier to get in and out of at a roadside halt than a high SUV.
When not to book a Maruti Ertiga
Every operator will tell you what a vehicle does well. These are the cases where we would put you in something else, including the ones where that earns us less.
On a ten-hour haul to Badrinath with senior passengers, the Crysta seat is worth the difference. This is the one case where we do not recommend the Ertiga.
Three large cases, not four. Six passengers travelling heavy should look at the Crysta or a Tempo.
Ground clearance is lower than an SUV, which shows on the rough diversions after a landslide season.
Green Card and trip permit as standard, oxygen fitted above 2,500 m, and drivers who run these routes every season. The Ertiga handles the narrow upper approaches to Gangotri and Yamunotri better than anything larger we run.

What our passengers say
Solo woman traveller and I was honestly nervous. They put me with a small group of other solo pilgrims and a guide who checked in without hovering. Guptkashi hotel was clean and warm, food was simple and good. Going back for Badrinath next season.
Booked after comparing four operators. What sold me was that the person who answered the phone was the person who ran the trip. Hotels, vehicle and darshan slots were exactly as quoted. The Kedarnath trek support was the strongest part — our guide walked at my father’s pace the whole way and never once made it feel like a problem.
Eight of us, including my parents at 72 and 69. Palki was arranged for both at Kedarnath without any fuss. Ramesh bhai, our driver, was calm on roads that frightened me and knew every tea stop worth stopping at. Ground-floor rooms at every hotel, as promised.
